My name is Sarah Ringer. I was a teacher for 26 years in the Pajaro Valley. I was born in Yakima, Washington, grew up in Bakersfield, California, lived my early adult life in Alert Bay and Vancouver, British Columbia. Since then, I have lived in Santa Cruz County. My favorite activities are writing, cooking, studying history and traveling. I have also enjoyed learning, teaching, and being around young people.

Oral History Project

Students will work on a research project based on the incarceration of Japanese Americans during World War II. An informational letter will be sent to parents a few weeks before the start of Gakko.

My name is Corey Tadashi Yamamoto. I will be a first year teacher at H.A. Hyde in Watsonville, teaching 3-5th grade science. I am a third generation Watsonville-born Japanese-American and I am also a Kokoro no Gakko alumni! I enjoy hiking, reading, and listening to music. I am very excited to be teaching at Gakko this summer and learning, laughing, and engaging with you all!
